Your vacation guide to Nags Head NC

If you traverse NC 12 or “beach road” along the coast of North Carolina you will inevitably drive through the town of Nags Head NC – a popular destination for vacationers from primarily the Midwest and eastern seaboard.

Nags Head has been a popular spot for those looking to get away with group of close family and friends for decades now. With many vacation rental homes and condos to choose from, you won’t have to look long and hard to secure a place to stay.

Summer is the most popular time of year to visit Nags Head – June, July and August is when the peak number of travelers find themselves on the barrier islands known as the Outer Banks. Although summer may be a super popular time of year for a beach getaway, don’t overlook the autumn months of September and October as the crowds are smaller and the lodging prices are lesser.

Nags Head plays host to many annual events – most of which are hosted by adventure retailer https://www.kittyhawk.com/, a company founded in 1974 by a hang gliding pioneer. Some of these events include the OBX Brewtag which is as unique of a celebration as you’ll find anywhere in the United States. During the event, a mini-keg is attached to a homemade flying device and tossed off a flight deck. The winner is decided by whoever’s flying contraption travels the farthest. Pretty neat, huh?
